Bobby Krzmarzick
Please tell us a little bit about yourself…
When did you start doing CrossFit?
I started in July 2013
What were you doing before CrossFit?
I was doing a variety of different things from P90X to medium distance running. I played basketball in Sweden for one year and really liked all the sprinting we did for practices. After the season, I found a sprint program online that I followed too. I never belonged to a gym before SISU though.
Why did you start doing CrossFit?
When I moved back from Sweden, I knew I wanted to do something. I thought about strength a strength program. At the time, I was thinking about playing town team baseball again and wanted to get stronger for that. I found a Living Social deal and decided to give CrossFit a shot. I was hooked after day one!
What apprehensions did you have before starting?
I wasn’t sure if CrossFit was a great fit for my fitness goals at the time. My goal was to get stronger and I thought there were better ways to do that. After starting CrossFit though, I realized that it was a great solution for getting stronger and improving my overall fitness.
Also, I had to get over, “You want me to do what? And how many times?”
What made you decide to come CrossFit SISU?
I had heard about it, wanted to try it, and ran across CrossFit SISU online, so I checked them out.
What were your thoughts after your first CrossFit workout?
I had never done a workout that was so intense! I told everyone about it and what I had done. That part still hasn’t changed!
What’s the greatest benefit you see so far since starting CrossFit and SISU?
I think the mental strength I’ve gained. In each WOD, there is that moment where you want to stop or quit and you just have to be mentally strong enough to push through and finish.
Are there any special memories/ achievements during your time here that you would like to share?
My favorite memory is when A Rod and I won Freeze Fest in 2015. Or I guess it will be after it happens.
What advice would you give to a person just joining CrossFit SISU?
Keep showing up. Even on those days when your least favorite movement or WOD is scheduled.
Something you might not know about me is?
I started playing in a co-ed volleyball league this year. So, next summer, I will be really good at the volleyball warmup!
Favorite WOD?
I really like chippers.
Least Favorite WOD?
Anything with overhead Squats
Favorite Lift?
I’d have to say squat cleans.
Least favorite lift?
Overhead squats, but squat snatch is a close second.
